About Julia

Hello, Readers!

I am so excited to have embarked upon this food/cocktail/restaurant blogging adventure, and although I do not anticipate having very many readers, I will treasure the ones I do have.

Essentially, I live here:

It's a pretty wild city to live in, with stimulation and temptation everywhere you look. It's often a struggle to choose to cook as opposed to going out to a new restaurant or lounge, but as a secretary I do not exactly earn the right to such a lavish lifestyle, and so part of the reasoning for this blog was to inspire me to cook more often and take pride in the things I make. As a life-loving optimist, I can't help but love food -- its preparation, its infinite flavors and varieties, and most importantly -- sharing it with others.

In addition to food, I love learning -- and so often in these posts you will receive little tidbits of cool information I've picked up: book recommendations, thoughts on movies, and all kinds of extraneous stuff that you could totally scroll through to get to the recipes. But this is a blog, after all, so I am entitled to some babbleing. I also love to travel, and though I haven't been out of the country for a couple of years -- the last time I went abroad it was after college to live in England for 6 months, from which I traveled to Morocco, Spain, Belgium and France -- I have done a lot of travel in the United States with my current man (Kyle), and that has been glorious. You will probably be reading a lot about Kyle as he will be my main taste-tester, and since we live together in a one-bedroom apartment many of my stories will probably involve him.

I am also obsessed with Yelp, so don't be surprised if a restaurant review makes it into here somewhere.

So, there you have it! If you ever have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Best,

Julia

P.S.: I use my cell phone for all of the food photos you will find on this blog. My cell phone currently blows, so please excuse the poor photo quality. Eventually I will get a better one, and you will see better pictures.
